This project aims to build an understanding of photographic representation through the application and understanding of visual language, whilst exploring fashion style through the theme of subcultures.
This investigative journey of fashion style provides an opportunity to draw upon connections with culture, politics and history while exploring core issues of visual representation through photographic application and visual analysis.
The theme for this project is ‘Radical Bodies’. From the early practitioners of classical portraiture to modern photographic image makers - fashion’s power as a transformative force lies at the very core of all critical, cultural and sociological debates. ‘Radical Bodies’ is a call to action; an investigation into the deep association between the photographic medium and the human body.
